Millennium Jazz is a label and service provider based in London and home to talent from the UK, France, Africa and Germany. Founded in 2003 with the main focus of providing production, sound engineering for artists and producers and music workshops for young people.

Now with a colourful roster of experienced staff and talent MJM are focusing on releasing material of various styles and genres.

Millennium Jazz is proud to present another Jazz Jousters compilation, which is by our ‘Calculation’ the twenty sixth official session in the series. See what we did there? 

Whilst debating the next project members of the collective repeatedly came up with the name ‘Cal Tjader’, born Callen Radcliffe Tjader Jr. in St Louis, Missouri, USA in 1925. Tjader was best known as a Latin Jazz musician as well as for being skilled in other areas of jazz via the Piano, as a percussionist, or mostly on his main instrument, the Vibraphone. His career spanned over forty years in music. 

This compilation is another 100% instrumental compilation based on some of Tjader’s enormous archive. This album features the works of RickMal, Bones The Beat Head, Jazz Kat, Pawcut, Gadget, FloFliz , SmokedBeat, Stay Classy, Mr. Moods, Slim The Chemist, Oldy Clap Recordz and newcomer Scaley WaleZ.

Antony Raijekov - See U

"Antony Raijekov is a bulgarian musician who is working in field of music since 1991. He is studing jazz piano at Vienna Konservatorium, Austria and before that he was studing classical piano in Sofia, Bulgaria. He compose music for several theatre perfomances: The Fireplace, NightSongs, Return, etc. He was invloved in several musical bands in Bulgaria: POPARA, Acoustic Sound Lab. and colaboration with V. DIkov. Currently he is based in Vienna, Austria.

For his work he has been awarded Electronic Music Award in the category ‘Electronic and computer generated music’ on the 16th international competition ComputerSpace 2004, ‘Musician of the month’, July 2004 by the ctgmusic.com music community. Award for MEDIABOX - interactive audio-visual installation artwork under creative commons licese - ComputerSpace 2007 / OpenIdeas Company.
He is member of Jamnedo, CCMixter CC portal, CTGMusic.net.

"We have decided to celebrate the new year with a new release. It has been prepared by an artist already familiar to Export Label fans. After the singles ‘Natural Thing’ and ‘Whale’, it’s time for Cuefx to present a full-length album. ‘International Post-War Chill’ is both musically and thematically rich; each of the eleven compositions tells a separate story, and touches upon different branches and varieties of jazz. Eugene Levitas - The Button

Critically acclaimed composer Eugene Levitas belongs to a new
generation of young composers. He is fluent in the diverse languages
of classical, contemporary, jazz, electronic and even pop - rock music. Eugene's compositions and arrangements can be heard in concert halls, CD recordings, movie theaters and on television.

Levitas' concert music has been performed by many leading
orchestras and artists including the Israel Chamber Orchestra,
Rishon LeZion Orchestra, Chen Zimbalista, Roberto Paternostro,
Tel - Aviv Brass Quintet and many others. Jerusalem Post wrote
about some of his concert: "... Levitas' Concerto was a celebration of sounds rarely heard in concert halls..."

As a film composer, Levitas scored acclaimed documentaries such as:
"Human Weapon" by Ilan Ziv for ARTE channel,
"Rescue Helicopters" (Gold Award in the Houston International Film Festival) directed by Elan Frank for National Geographic,
"Star Trek - The Next Generation" trailer for Star World TV.

Producer and Arranger Eugene Levitas has been involved in many multi platinum and gold records by leading Israeli artists such as Rita, Shlomo Artzi, Rami Kleinstein and Kathy Ben HaRoush.

With his brother Dmitry Levitas, (first trumpet of Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra), he formed Levitas Brothers and have recorded two albums "Ocean" and "Whispered Thoughts" were he experiment with different sounds and styles of music.

A graduate of the Music Academy of the Tel Aviv University he is in the beginning of his musical career. Ruth Gutman Ben-Zvi (regular contributor to the "HaTzofe") wrote: "... Levitas not only have a charm ..., but knowledge and rhythmical / melodic gift to write modern, daring and beautiful music.""

Węgierski zespół grający na żywo, w skład którego wchodzą:

       Melinda Csorba, Ádám Kovács, Dániel Gál, János Bene, Árpád Kiss, József Lakinger.
Pierwszą rzeczą jaką wydali był singiel "Hi Fi" w 2002 roku. Później po dłuższej przerwie (rok 2006) wrócili w całkiem innej konwencji z albumem "From The Head To The Feet", który wydali własnym sumptem.

Kolejnymi produkcjami zespołu są 2 EPki (a raczej single) wydane w netlabelu Budabeats: "Nofun Nofun " oraz "Must Be The Neitherland". W obu przypadkach mieliśmy do czynienia z tytułowym utworem i jego 3 remixami. Lecz oba single zwróciły uwagę poważniejszych wytwórni (Narrator Records, Wagram Records) 
i  w obu singlach zostały "podkradzione" 2 wersje utworów. Teraz za darmo w budabeats możemy dostać tylko po 2 remixy.

Muzyka grana przez zespół to dub, breakbeat i nu jazz połączony z urzekającym wokalem Melindy Csorby.

  

Utwór "Nofun" w remixie Crookrama (również reprezentanta bubabeats), którego już nie doświadczymy na singlu wydanym przez budabeats:

Po fenomenalnej płycie "The Branches" rosyjski muzyk Long Arm szykuje kolejny long play zatytułowany "Organic". Tak jak poprzednio tak i tym razem będzie to mieszanka instrumentalnego hip hopu oraz jazzu. Z gości najciekawszy wg mnie jest występ Marii Gracieli, która wydała ostatnio genialny album "Many Places". Poza nią usłyszymy również Teknical Development, który udzielał się też na poprzedniej płycie.

Anitek to producent z New Jersey. Wydał do tej pory 8 części płyt z cyklu "Anitek Instrumentals", wyprodukował EPkę Taba ze składu The Dead Poets z New Jersey - Chasing Rabbits EP oraz jego kolejny album - Traveling in Stere0. Pomiędzy kolejnymi częściami Anitek Instrumentals, wypuścił również The Freakout Tent, Extraordinary Intelligence, Unconcious oraz The Substance Affair.

 

Mind Express to kolejny jego darmowy album mieszczący się w takich gatunkach jak nu jazz, downtempo czy instrumental hip hop. Całość jest okraszona sporą dawką turntablismu.
