"The Auckland-based, New Zealand club night ‘Haven’ has been a leading light in the pacific nation’s small underground dance music scene in the past year. From their home of the intimate backroom of basement venue Whammy, founders Keepsakes and Jaded Nineties Raver have introduced the local night fiends to a diverse range of left-of-centre, techno-centric dance music in putting on shows with international artists from lo-fi Australian electro wizard Daze, to the harder-edged sounds of Ansome and UVB. 

Now launching as a vinyl-focused record label, Haven is attempting to push the best of New Zealand’s new guard of outsider dance music to the international stage. 

Their first release gives us three crunchy originals from their club resident and New Zealand techno-export Keepsakes. ‘Mind Your Manners Munted Millennial’ kicks off the A-side with scratchy percussion, overdriven kicks, and screaming, squelchy synths with a cheeky character distinctive of the young producer’s music. ‘Maximum Mind Control’ then takes us on a different bent with a synth-line sitting somewhere between chilled dub techno and industrial grit that increases in intensity, surprising with a an unexpected end-of-track change. ‘Pick ‘em Till They Bleed’ then begins the B-side with swung and dusty drums reminiscent of the A1 track alongside a loony, gnarled synth-line sure to disorient many a dance-floor. Hard techno genius Ansome rounds off the EP with a rolling, industrial-tinged and crushing interpretation of the B1 to finish Haven’s first foray on the international stage. "

To close this year, we would like to present you a new artist coming to Cicuta Netlabel for show his techno vision, dutch resident in UK, Willem B. Compromised from years ago with free music (in his Soundcloud profile you can find a lot of free stuff), he present 3 tracks which fits perfectly with our musical line, with acid and dark sounds, industrial atmospheres,… You will be pleased, for sure.

About remixers, we have two very special collaborations. In one side we have to hungarian Robert Kiss, more known as Doryk, or, Formal Method. This veteran of netaudio scene is manager of one of the most important netlabels in the hard/dark techno style, Audioexit Records, which recently has reached 6 years on air. Robert is also involved in other labels such as Black Strategy Records and Techno Pulse Records. We’re really happy to have one old friend on board.

On the other side we have (again) to Structural Form, artist resident in Madrid, partner of so many battles from years, and who always seduce us with his personal style, always hard, always old-school… One pleasure for us and for our ears.

As always, we have left our personal print as Drugstore, remixing one of the tracks, hope you like it.

Welcome to the release number 24 of Cicuta Netlabel. Gnosis is spoken of as a concept to describe the supreme knowledge, as a legacy from the deities to humans. We prefer the concept of “the awakening of consciousness”, something that basically we pursue with this project. The musical awakening of consciousness to open free music channels…

In this release we back to travel around the world. We started our trip in Rome, Italy, where we have the pleasure of meeting with VSK, founder and manager of Consumer Recreation Services Recordings, and with some interesting releases on labels like Fluxus or Sonntag Morgen.

We return to Spain to meet again with an old good friend, Zair, who accompanied us on the reference number 3 and that makes again 21 references after an evolution in their sound, more mature and consistent than ever.

We flew to Berlin to bring you the sound of José Bou, better known as JoyB. He comes to Cicuta Netlabel with his mental and elegant techno, having published some of his work on labels as interesting as Main Concept.

We return to Spain to present to DubReverb, Madrid based artist representing one of our regular “exceptions” in terms of our musical line. From time to time we like to get away a little from harder techno and work of this artist is truly exceptional.

We continue our journey from Russia, featuring Oleg Pw, an artist with a touch eclectic in their productions, common in our experience with the Russian school. A breath of fresh air to the actual scene.

Finally, as usual, we present one of our jobs as Drugstore.

Welcome to the release number 22 of Cicuta Netlabel. This month, we meet 2 years from the creation of the label. Two years of hard work, a lot of joy, and, why not, some occasional disappointment. There have been many artists who selflessly have given us their work, 71 artists from 24 different nationalities who have believed in our project, which we are extremely proud. But if really have been a key part of the journey of this project, have been you, the listeners, which keep alive our flame. More than 46,000 listens and more than 18,000 downloads of our EPs require us to work hard for you. THANKS, in capital letters, to each and every one of you.

For this special occasion we have an old friend, David Meiser. The Spanish, based in Zaragoza, is perhaps one of the most improved artists in this year 2013, and it is certainly one of the producers with the greatest projection at short-medium term. The quality and good reviews of their work will certainly portend a great future, and here in Cicuta we’re proud of belonging to our catalog.

He brings us three spectacular tracks, varied. The first 2 correspond to his more industrial face, his most recognizable sound. The third track, DNA, is a special track, with a melodic progression… For sure we will see some of these tracks soon on lists of important artists.

As for the remixers, we started from the U.S. talking about Rick Allen, better known as RRKS. Veteran who comes to Cicuta backed by the support which are getting their latest productions by Dave Clarke, which is not surprising us after hearing his remix, highly recommended…

Another artist who has joined the EP is the Spanish The Outlier, old friend of David, which gives us his vision of track DNA, remembering us those drums of the golden age of hard-techno.

Finally, from Drugstore team, we did not want to lose the opportunity to remix a track of this great artist, so, we offer our offbeat version of Inner Fight theme.

Welcome to the reference number 21 of Cicuta Netlabel. Summer is coming, and with it the season that many took the opportunity to relax body and mind. There is also the other side, people taking advantage of the summer to burn night and away from it. In this reference, the last of the 2012-2013 season, there are tracks for everyone, both for those who want to relax and those who want party.

We started the EP traveling to Lithuania with Julita Stankevic, better known as Femii, representing the first woman to publish on our label, which we like and we hope that in the future will become commonplace.

We continue our journey by visiting another country for the first time, Greece. There we met Substak, producer who seduced us with his techno with dub airs. After passing through many netlabels like Dark Garden, reaches Cicuta Netlabel to offer its quality.

We jump to the UK to introduce you to Rick Canham, alias InSight, an artist who has surprised us by their commitment to techno and quality.

Another artist who are visiting for the first time is Slovenian Krzho, a whole world wanderer netaudio. He features behind innumerable references in most netlabels worldwide. To cite a few, Clear-Cut-Records, Bump Foot, inoQuo, Bleepsequence,…

We continue traveling to Russia to present our latest discovery, Artem Dultsev. Maybe ist the track whose style is farther than we usually post, but after hear it, we could not pass the opportunity to share with you. Quality and subtlety in abundance.

Last but not worse, we present our latest work as Drugstore. Dark, powerful and focused on the dance floor, as we usually do.

Welcome to the release number 20 of Cicuta Netlabel. The association of individuals to achieve a goal is not a feature unique to humans, there are many creatures in nature that cooperate to survive. The association that we can see in this EP breaks with this statement. Five minds have cooperated on this EP, led by Isolate and Spigl, to complete a mission, to reach our brain and to move our legs.

We begin the review of the remixers with Czech Tomas Hartl, better known as Elektrabel, who already had the pleasure to have with us in reference 018.

Another old friend returning to our catalog is the Sevillian Rafa Fijo, RFS, which brings us more

introspective vision of the track "Mode Three".

The next artist makes his first appearance in Cicuta. Severin Kwazniak from Poland, who before arriving at our label has released his music on labels as interesting as Dynamic Reflection.

Complete the remixers poker Japanese Kuniaki Takenaga, under his aka Revolver Voltex, with whom he has started a new career, oriented to lower bpms.

From our point of view, the artist who signed the reference of this month is one of those artists, one of those underrated by the scene who fights and make real wonders. This artist is Bran Lanen.

In this reference, shows his most hypnotic and experimental face, under his aka Lifeblood. He offers 6 cuts ranging from techno to ambient, with a sound reminiscent of the best times of Jeff Mills. A sound that is catching and wrapping you up to take you to a state of altered consciousness.

It is not the first (and sure it’s not the last) time we bet on this artist, so if you want to hear more of his works, take a tour by our catalog, you will find real gems. The Thinker – Age Of Machines EP

Welcome to the reference number 16 of Cicuta Netlabel. We started 2013 with a slight delay, but the wait will certainly worthwhile. For us it is a very encouraging new year, in which we expect the crisis that our country drowns give way to optimism and good feelings.

We decided to open the course to becoming one of the emerging centers of techno patriotic, Sevilla. There we met The Thinker, talented young willing to put a dent in the Spanish electronic scene. With its “Age Of Machines” presents 4 cutting-edge techno, intelligent techno for open minds. Far from heavy drums which are collapsing the international techno scene, he opted by futuristic sounds and synths with Detroit-touches that certainly satisfy the most demanding palates.

As for the remixers, we wanted to have a well know friend, Mr. Hyo from Burgos brings more personal version of the song “World Revolution”. His music does not need much introduction, but it is the first time you hear it, his handling of the atmospheres and rhythms deviled seduce you from the first play.

Finally, from Drugstore we did not want to lose the chance to remix one of the tracks, in this case, we offer our own version of the track “The Automaton”. This time, less forceful and more mental than in the past, we hope you enjoy this new (or different) face.

V.A. – One Year Ago EP

"Today Cicuta Netlabel turns one year old. One year full of work, joys, and, why not, some distaste. But above all it has been a year full of numbers: we've published music of 45 artists from 16 countries, accumulating more than 8,500 downloads and over 26,000 tracks on Soundcloud. These numbers are more than satisfactory, and make us extremely grateful to all those people who have relied on our understanding of techno. We also want to thank all the artists who have donated their music for free and disinterested, and our colleagues David and Xavi, a key part of the team of Cicuta, and without whom none of this would be possible.

Start the EP with Dutch Ritzi Lee, one of the most active artists on the European hard-techno scene, with years of experience behind them, and with great success on labels as important as Theory, Labrynth, Planet Rhythm or Naked Lunch. An honor and a luxury to have him on this anniversary.

We continue with the Czech based in Holland Oliver Kucera, who already participated in the eighth Cicuta release, and with whom we share a special friendship. His quality is more than proven in his releases at TMM Records, Planet Rhythm and Kucera Records (their own label).

Here we present the Irish Diarmaid O'Meara, co-manager of Gobsmacked Records label with Luke Creed, and that brings us a track full of groove and pressure, ideal to dive into the atmosphere and sounds...

We returned to Spain, to present one of the artists who possibly has progressed in this 2012. Rafa Fijo, better known as RFS or RF:Sound, despite his short career, has gotten the attention of the techno scene, and for example, playing on the mythical Florida 135...

We remain in Spain to make known to the Sigma Zigurat duo, formed by Hyo and Discknocked. We know Hyo too well after posting the fourth release of Cicuta, a success. As a duo we have a powerful track, mental, perfect to ignite a dance floor...

Finally, and as always, Drugstore close the EP with our own track. In this case, as the occasion merits, ration of dancefloor techno.

"We present the latest EP of the 2011-2012 season for Cicuta Netlabel. A good dose of free and strong techno to enjoy at the beach or at the mountains. We promise to rest and recharge the batteries to re-cap in September, the month in which we celebrate our first anniversary.

We start our trip in Italy, flamboyant finalist of Euro soccer. There we discovered Stefano Infusino, talented producer who brings us a powerful track with a heavy bass, as a heat-wave falling on our ears… After going through labels like Heaven To Hell, Gynoid or Shout Records, arrives to Cicuta, not to be missed…

We continue with English Ross Alexander, an artist who even had a late start in point of production (about 2009) in just over 3 years has managed to walk his techno in important labels such as Naked Lunch, Elektrax or UTCH. Sure his dark and industrial techno not leaves you unsatisfied.

The next stop takes us to Birmingham, one of the central points of the techno scene, to meet Jake Conlon, an artist whom we met at the recommendation of a friend and left us open-mouthed. Do not fail to hear everything that makes this artist, quality techno…

The next artist to debut at Cicuta is the Irish Tony McMurray, better known as Hoth System. His techno is fresh, lively, different, an oasis in the desert of loops in which we live.

As usual we could not miss a new product from the Spanish quarry. Here we bring from Canillejas, a popular district of Madrid, possibly the artist who makes more tracks in a year. After an earlier stage in which published in labels like Zimmer or Audioexit under a different pseudonym, Structural Form reaches Cicuta to put a good dose of hard-techno in the ears of our listeners.

Finally, as usual, from Drugstore we present an own work. This time, a stronger track, closer to conventional techno. A gift for you to remember us until September…

V.A. – Shunt EP

"May is the gateway to the summer, a month of contrasts, from the summer heat to the cold spring. For Cicuta Netlabel, this release is a good analogy to this, because we can go from poweful and dark techno to the most melodic and danceable techno.

We open the EP with Irish Luke Creed, one of the headers of new techno generations. At just 23 years has managed to publish in some of the most influential labels, such as TMM Records, Elektrax or Heaven to Hell, getting very good feedback from the heavyweights of the scene. It is also Gobsmacked Records label manager with Diarmaid O’Meara, which has been working since 2007 with a great success.

We continue with one of the new values of the prolific Spanish quarry, Jose Pouj. After releasing on labels such as Tsunami and Warm Up, no one doubts the quality and talent of this producer. Another project in which is having success with his own label, Injected Poison, which is distributed worldwide and features artists like Oscar Mulero or Kike Pravda.

The next artist that we present is the Australian Allan Nonamaka, co-manager of Fervent label, and an excellent producer. Although it may sound unfamiliar to someone, has already published two references in Labrynth and published with Inigo Kennedy in Fervent, so stay tuned, is a name to watch.

Then we return to the national product, presenting an issue of Moitan, whose components are old acquaintances and friends of Cicuta, Loisan and Mootiv. As separately, his style is fresh, dynamic, with a techno that does not let you have your feet on the ground, with lots of groove.

Another old friend who returns to publish with us is David Reina, who this time brings a deep track, hypnotic, not for heart disease. Possibly one of the best work we’ve had the pleasure of publishing in our short existence.

Finally, as usual, from Drugstore we present our own work. This time we bring a very eclectic track, without style, designed for people with no musical barriers and prejudice.

"Welcome to the eighth release of Cicuta Netlabel. For an artist, all his works are something unique, something special. If you answer him about his favorite, he probably tell us it’s difficult to highlight only one. But always there is some works which, for one reason, are in a special place in his mind, and are usually reserved for a special occasion. In this case, Drugstore’s crew, sign this EP, with three special tracks, reserved for this great moment.

On one hand we have 2 tracks (Gaia and Kundalini) designed for the dance floor, closer to offbeat, with vocals and unconventional samples. Moreover, we have a more experimental track (Circon), closer to the netaudio world, in which this kind of works are usually well received.

About remixers, we have to Oliver Kucera, Czech producer based in Holland, one of the birthplaces of techno, with a track with a lot of strength. Oliver is one of the most promising artists in the European techno scene, as well as demonstrates their great collaborations with artists like Mattias Fridell, Space DJz or Carlos Rios. Recently, he has started his own label, Kucera Records, with a very good acceptance in the first release.

Another artist who is with us is CBTØ, Spanish artist from Seville, currently residing in Berlin, and one of our favorites in recent times. Jorge is a different artist, making music not usually oriented to the mainstream, but puts the soul into every track, and that is something that hooks you from the first listen.

Finally, we present a new Spanish talent, David Meiser, who has made an impact since his first track, being played by the great Dave Clarke in his radioshow. It has a style closer to old hard-techno from Eastern Europe, which is much appreciated in these times…

There is a special artist, whom we met a few years ago, and surprised us with his talent and his way of feeling the music, which we do not accept that, and we try to give it the support it deserves. We’re talking about Bran Lanen.

Bran is an artist from León (Spain), passionate defender of hardware and analog. So far his career in the musical has been pretty tied to netaudio, having published on netlabels like Zimmer, Antiritmo or Geometrika, but that has not stopped him getting a great success in a commercial label such Labrynth, publishing under his aka Lifeblood.

In this EP, Bran offers 4 intense tracks, deep, mental, full of nuances that surround you in an atmosphere of darkness which is not easy to leave. Of course, without ever losing sight of the dance floor…

As for the remixers, on the one hand we have from Zagreb (Croatia) to Robert Pain, one of the artists who are making waves in the underground circuit techno artists. His label, Black Queen, despite having little reference is becoming a must for lovers of deep and dark techno. We note particularly the reference number 1, which has been played by a lot of great dj on the world stage.

Finally, and as always, from Drugstore bring our usual remix, in this case giving a more powerful vision to the track Lost Procedures."

"Welcome to the fifth reference of Cicuta Netlabel. Start a new year, a year full of good intentions and hopes renewed. In Cicuta Netlabel want 2012 to be our year, and it started with all the strength and power of one of the most established and influential artists of the global dark-techno scene, the lord of the dark, Voidloss.

Steve, like a kind of magician king, has given us 4 tracks potent, fast-paced, true to the style Voidloss, very atmospheric, somewhat harder perhaps than his later works. Tracks such trap you and take you on a mental journey until the last beat.

Of the 4 tracks that compose the EP, we can classify 2 as more “trackers” (Purgatory Engine and Black Beltaine) and 2 more “mental” (Rtual at Château des Amerois and Continuum Mechanics), so that all dark-techno lovers sure to find their favorite in the release.

As for the remixers, on the one hand we have Rick Miller, better known as Systemic, remixing the track Black Beltaine. Excellent artist and personal friend of Voidloss, is also Duality Records label owner, and has published in great labels such as Labrynth, Subsist, UTCH or Trust, being this his first release into netaudio world.
