Millennium Jazz is a label and service provider based in London and home to talent from the UK, France, Africa and Germany. Founded in 2003 with the main focus of providing production, sound engineering for artists and producers and music workshops for young people.

Millennium Jazz is proud to present another Jazz Jousters compilation, which is by our ‘Calculation’ the twenty sixth official session in the series. See what we did there? 

Whilst debating the next project members of the collective repeatedly came up with the name ‘Cal Tjader’, born Callen Radcliffe Tjader Jr. in St Louis, Missouri, USA in 1925. Tjader was best known as a Latin Jazz musician as well as for being skilled in other areas of jazz via the Piano, as a percussionist, or mostly on his main instrument, the Vibraphone. His career spanned over forty years in music. 

This compilation is another 100% instrumental compilation based on some of Tjader’s enormous archive. This album features the works of RickMal, Bones The Beat Head, Jazz Kat, Pawcut, Gadget, FloFliz , SmokedBeat, Stay Classy, Mr. Moods, Slim The Chemist, Oldy Clap Recordz and newcomer Scaley WaleZ.

"We have decided to celebrate the new year with a new release. It has been prepared by an artist already familiar to Export Label fans. After the singles ‘Natural Thing’ and ‘Whale’, it’s time for Cuefx to present a full-length album. ‘International Post-War Chill’ is both musically and thematically rich; each of the eleven compositions tells a separate story, and touches upon different branches and varieties of jazz. This has been possible thanks to the cooperation of Dominik Strycharski (flutes, vocals, lyrics), Aleksander Pieprz (saxophones), Tomasz Barzec (trumpet, voice) and Jacek Latoń (Cuefx), who supervised the project, and took great care to weave the sounds together for us to fully experience ‘International Post-War Chill’. Węgierski zespół grający na żywo, w skład którego wchodzą:

       Melinda Csorba, Ádám Kovács, Dániel Gál, János Bene, Árpád Kiss, József Lakinger.
Pierwszą rzeczą jaką wydali był singiel "Hi Fi" w 2002 roku. Później po dłuższej przerwie (rok 2006) wrócili w całkiem innej konwencji z albumem "From The Head To The Feet", który wydali własnym sumptem.

Kolejnymi produkcjami zespołu są 2 EPki (a raczej single) wydane w netlabelu Budabeats: "Nofun Nofun " oraz "Must Be The Neitherland". W obu przypadkach mieliśmy do czynienia z tytułowym utworem i jego 3 remixami. Lecz oba single zwróciły uwagę poważniejszych wytwórni (Narrator Records, Wagram Records) 
i  w obu singlach zostały "podkradzione" 2 wersje utworów. Teraz za darmo w budabeats możemy dostać tylko po 2 remixy.

Muzyka grana przez zespół to dub, breakbeat i nu jazz połączony z urzekającym wokalem Melindy Csorby.

  

Utwór "Nofun" w remixie Crookrama (również reprezentanta bubabeats), którego już nie doświadczymy na singlu wydanym przez budabeats:

Po fenomenalnej płycie "The Branches" rosyjski muzyk Long Arm szykuje kolejny long play zatytułowany "Organic". Tak jak poprzednio tak i tym razem będzie to mieszanka instrumentalnego hip hopu oraz jazzu. Z gości najciekawszy wg mnie jest występ Marii Gracieli, która wydała ostatnio genialny album "Many Places". Poza nią usłyszymy również Teknical Development, który udzielał się też na poprzedniej płycie.
