Paide & Fischerle presents Doubts 2

Release Date: 4 April 2018

Label: Pawlacz Perski

"Doubts is a compilation, whose guiding principle is searching for new solutions for a selected musical genre. To this end, artists and music producers unrelated to the particular music genre are invited to participate in the compilation. In the first part of Doubts, the main topic was dub techno. The second edition of Doubts is an attempt to reinterpret Chicago Footwork and the pace of 160 BPM. As a result, works were created loosely referring to selected formal aspects of footwork (Ceglarek & Dybała, Maciej Maciągowski, Hubert Zemler), or radically atomizing its structure (Freeze, Genetics & Windsurfing, Micromelancolié), and in some cases works arisen that have chosen the 160 BPM rate as the starting point while placing it in dub (Sarmacja), techno (Mech) and psychedelia (Mchy i Porosty). Doubts vol. 2 is an attempt to answer the question whether since 2012 and the first Polish footwork compilation Ghosts Traxx (which was co-created by one of Doubts curators - Paweł Paide Dunajko), there is a chance to repeat this creative situation, while refreshing and exploring the framework of the genre anew."

Micromelancolié - Niwa

Release Date: 5 April 2018

Label: Nona

"Micromelancolié is Robert Skrzyński, a Polish ambient/experimental musician whose discography counts a few dozens of releases on various respectable independet labels. As well as many other of Micromelancolié releases, Niwa is being released as a tape, and according to Skrzyński's words it's been planned as one of the parts of his record series referring to “changes in human understanding of reality, concept of true, and information overload caused by internet as a basic part of everyday life.”

Skrzyński here once again continues in his proved practice of sound collaging, creating an adventurous ambient world made from pieces of manipulated found sounds, field recordings, static glitch, somewhat disquieting spatious pads and sound objects. As a result he brings us an album that is fragile yet exciting, adventurous and fairly daydream inducing."

Emapea - Zoning Out Volume 1

Release Date: 16 February 2018

"Emapea, the renowned beat-maker from Poland, burst upon the scene with multiple compilation appearances on Cold Busted, an inclusion on Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz 8, and his stunning debut album Seeds, Roots & Fruits. Fans and headz worldwide have been clamoring for a follow-up, but all Emapea wanted to do was just 'zone out.' And that's what happened, with the release of Emapea's twenty song album Zoning Out, Volume 1.

Emapea's cuts are meant for the listener to get lost in – but they're not only for chilling, or when deep in thought, but also for getting in that crucial head-nod zone, like when the DJ drops the dopest beat. Expertly crafted and sequenced, the album presents a boom-bap journey that's dreamy and spacey while remaining tough and jazzy. "Check It Out" exemplifies the mood with its smooth drums, chiming keys, subtle sax riffs, and hip hop shout-outs. The vibe expands on "Motion", adding an exotic, worldly flavor to the seductively loping rhythm. And "Classy" features a smokey saloon piano melody that cruises smugly out of jeep-beat speakers. This track was recently featured on a limited postcard record, mailed surreptitiously to lucky Emapea supporters.

Zoning Out, Volume 1 defines Emapea as an artist to watch on the international beat scene. Pay attention as Volume 2 will be continuing the journey in later months."

Mech - Sub-Clouds

Release Date: 30 January 2018

Label: Pawlacz Perski

""Sub-Clouds" by Mateusz Wysocki and Michał Wolski is a record of a visit to the sound laboratory. The encounter of experienced musicians always has an experimental dimension, but in the case of the Mech duo, the laboratory metaphor also perfectly suits the description of the musical structure. A sterile, machine pulse, which is a precise mathematical grid for measuring the slow-flowing, fractal, synthesizer clouds can be easly detected here. Thanks to the rhythmically working machinery we can observe the matter that slowly swells, mutates, grows in all directions, and eventually disintegrates."

Tracklist:

1. Dimensional Climb 06:56

2. Spectral Vortex 08:00

3. Giants 06:24

Myako - White Tiger

Release Date: 29 January 2018

Known for her eclecticism behind the turntables and for the flavor of her cosmic and dancehall breaked sets ranging between techno and UK noisy, this free animal in the jungle of French techno scene again establishes her skills not only as a skillful DJane, but also a genuinely sophisticated producer.

Her journey started in Germany in booth alongside Dirk Leyers, Dasha Rush, and Auddie. Beautiful collaborations sparked by beautiful encounter would follow: a first disc on the Viennese label Comfortzone, another on Second Record, 13 loops signed on Ronde label, and a track on our precious Nona "Family Matter", a compilation of international artist and friends of Bastl Instruments – which has also hosted Myako in their residency programme during 2017."

Release Date: 8 January 2018

Label: Pinkman

"Pinkman welcomes Maenad Veyl to its roster of artists for his debut release in the form of the labels second tape. The A-side of the cassette is completed by the melodic slow burning energy of 'D.M.M.R.M'. On the other side 'State ov Apprehension' and 'Sotto Gli Occhi Tutti' further darken the character, to then pave way for 'In Ruins' to finish the damage with it's ethereal, yet soul ripping guitar riffs."
